If you're in or supporting the aircraft industry today, the name of the game is digital data. Major aircraft OEMs are increasingly demanding that their suppliers submit compliant digital data in industry standard SGML formats (ATA-2100/2200.) For nearly a decade, X.Systems has developed and supported systems to satisfy these growing requirements. Working with key industry players, we've created application tools that fully address the requirements of aircraft documentation, both paper and the growing move towards electronic delivery.
To us, the aviation industry is not just another "vertical market," but a key part of our business, planning and development. We know the industry, the challenges and how to meet them at reasonable cost and low risk. Our engineering and application development group, for example, is heavily staffed by professionals with long histories in commercial aviation manufacturing.
XSI Systems are User-designed and Proven
When you deal with X.Systems representatives, you are working with people who know the industry and its unique challenges and have in-depth experience in meeting them. Our professional staff, for example, combines nearly 75 years direct development and production experience in the commercial aircraft world. Our client list includes industry leaders like Boeing, Pratt & Whitney, Rockwell, Sikorsky, Kidde, Northrop Grumman, Dayton T. Brown and United Defense.
When you use an XSI system, you are working with applications that have been designed in close co-operation with major industry players, and tested and refined through production use in the areas they are designed to support. X.Systems' Productivity+PLUS is a Key Resource for Aviation Publishing
The growing use of multimedia publishing in the aviation industry confronts companies, large and small, with new challenges. Systems that worked in past years are becoming less able to keep up and more cumbersome to use. Something better is needed, but most electronic publishing systems are expensive to acquire and often fail to adequately address the unique needs of the aviation publisher.
Productivity+PLUS is a proven, specification-compliant system at an affordable price.
Productivity+PLUS ™ was designed in close co-operation with major aviation and defense firms including Pratt & Whitney, Boeing and Sikorsky Aviation, component manufacturers like Kidde Aerospace and Hamilton Sundstrand, and technical service firms like Dayton T. Brown. Its applications fully address the challenges of aircraft publishing without piling on complexity and cost for unneeded features and technology.
Productivity+PLUS uses the Arbor Text's ADEPT editor for full ATA SGML compliance, seamlessly linking the author with integrated applications for effectivity, reference and linking, revision and TR control, Language (S/E) and Workplace management. Productivity+PLUS was designed to increase productivity, lower costs and ensure full compliance with specifications and schedules. It delivers on all counts.
Major Components of Productivity+PLUS:
EFFECTIVITY (Variant) MANAGEMENT
X.Systems' Version Manager (VM) provides comprehensive effectivity authoring, validation and both visual and production resolution, in full compliance with ATA, AECMA or CALS specifications. With VM, our users create a single SGML instance from which they can extract and resolve a virtually unlimited number of unique versions. VM supports effectivity for elements and attributes independently, allowing users to design their content environment to meet their unique needs. Authors are always aware of their effectivity status and of the impact of any effectivity changes on the status of links and references in their data. In aviation use since 1995, VM is the most comprehensive effectivity tool in the industry. Click here for more information.
LINK/REFERENCE MANAGEMENT
Links within and among data modules are a critical part of the ATA 2100 and 2200, AECMA and CALS specifications. In an electronic data environment such as ATA 2100, links are critical to usability. With X.Systems' Link Author , authors can browse their entire repository to find legal link targets, make the links with a simple point and click, and validate links at any time. Link Author is integrated with effectivity and revision management so that any action by any author that would invalidate an existing link is reported for analysis and correction. Link Author assigns and protects both unique target IDs and IDs that become part of link pointers. With Link Author, a difficult and complex editorial task becomes manageable and productive. SIMPLIFIED ENGLISH
X.Systems' Language Manager (LM), working with MAXit, the industry's most capable grammar engine, provides interactive analysis and correction against the AECMA Simplified English (or other) specification. With LM, authors can work in S/E, knowing that their work will be rigorously checked against the standard. When errors are detected, LM provides a real time correction aid that materially reduces time to rewrite and compliance. LM is integrated with Change Manager to bring the language correction process seamlessly into the revision management environment. Click here for more information.
